    Kia Cerato 2013: Excessive lifter noise

    I have taken my new Kia Cerato coupe back to my dealer because it has developed excessive lifter noise. The dealer has acknowledged there is a problem, but are unsure how to rectify it with Kia as apparently it is a common problem. Have you heard of this?

    It seems that Kia has changed from hydraulic to mechanical lash adjusters, which is the reason for the noise. They told us the change was made for better reliability and service life, and lower cost of servicing.
