The clutch in my 2014 Ford Focus was replaced in April 2016; it's now getting another new one. Between November 2015 and April 2016 it had many sleepovers at the dealer's whilst they tested, gave it back, retested it etc. I have lost confidence in the car and want to ask for the buy-back from Ford. I purchased a new car to keep until I got too old to drive. I am a pensioner and not able to manage a changeover price. What can I expect the buy-back to be on a 2-year-old Focus in perfect condition with just 30,000 km on it? I am wary of purchasing a Ford again. Any advice would be appreciated.
I doubt that Ford would buy the car back from you outright, they would be more likely to offer you a trade-in deal on a new car. As a guide I would expect you would get $11,000 to $12,000 as a trade-in on your car. Talk to Ford and find out what they are offering; you can then consider your options. If you feel it's not enough you could go to the consumer affairs people, or join the class action that's being run on this problem.
