    Ford Falcon 2010: Is semi-synthetic oil appropriate for my car?

    I recently got my 2010 Ford Falcon serviced and when I got the bill I noticed that the mechanic put semi-synthetic oil instead of full synthetic. When I objected he said that since I do low km annually, it’s ok. My understanding was that full synthetic oil gives better protection when run hard, which I do at times. Is there a problem with running on semis?

    If it’s a good quality the semi-synthetic oil will be fine for your car. Next time you have the oil changed ask the mechanic what oil he plans to use, and don’t be afraid to specify the one you want if it’s different.
