    Toyota HiLux: Will an automatic Extra Cab SR or SR5 be available?

    I recently visited a Toyota dealer with the view of purchasing a new HiLux Extra Cab. However, I was informed by the salesperson that the Extra Cab SR and SR5 are not available as an automatic.
    The salesperson advised me that I was the third person with that request that day. Would it be possible to ascertain if, or when, an automatic HiLux Extra Cab will be available?

    Toyota spokesman, Stephen Coughlan, says the lack of an automatic is a result of overwhelming global demand for manuals in the Extra Cab models. "There is no plan at this time for an automatic but we will continue to monitor customer demand in Australia," he says.
