I have a 2005 Mazda 6 auto that I purchased in 2008 with only 79,000 km on it. Back then it was very responsive, the gear changes were normal and the fuel economy was good, but at the end of 2010 I had it serviced at 95,000 km and problems started. Firstly the transmission fluid disappeared, but the auto transmission specialist I took it to could find nothing wrong. I have since had it serviced and asked that the transmission be checked, and everything was said to be fine. But I feel it?s not as responsive as it was and takes ages to get up to speed. The gear changes are not as smooth and I?m using 10.2 L/100 km, which I know is not normal. Do I need a new transmission or just a good tune up?
Sounds like you need to have a transmission specialist take a closer look at it. For starters, the transmission fluid doesn’t simply disappear without reason, there has to be a problem. I would have the auto serviced and the fluid changed.
