2014 Subaru XV steering shuddering
Asked by Brett W. Hansen.
We have two 2014 Subaru XVs in the family, which were bought new. My auto has intermittent shuddering through the driveline, felt particularly through the steering wheel, sometimes mild, at others, excessive. It’s most noticeable when parking and mildly accelerating when turning. I have driven other XVs, and some were very bad, some not. Our other XV has very mild "symptoms". I have spoken to two service managers, and they told me they all do it, that it’s a characteristic of the model, and there’s nothing they can do. They also say all Subarus with the CVT have it. To me it is not acceptable and it's hard to live with on a daily basis. Any ideas?

I agree, that’s not something you should have to live with, and being told that you should is a sign that Subaru can’t sort the problem. I would persist in talking with head office and don’t mince words when you’re talking to them.
