Q

Don't believe Ford's stories that its balljoint problems are confined to the Territory, the balljoints on my AU ute had to be replaced after 80,000 km because they were worn. My mechanic couldn't find the cause of the squeak in the front-end, but the dealership he called was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. It seems they knew about the problem.

Yours is the first report we've had at CarsGuide about the Falcon, which has a different front suspension set-up to that on the Territory.

  • I have an AU3 2002 Falcon, and am replacing bushes at 380,000k but the ball-joints (original ones) are ok. I’ll replace them anyway.
