Ask Smithy Xtra Honda CR-V engine life

Is it reasonable to expect to get 300,000 km from a 2.0-litre or 2.4-litre Honda CR-V engine before it needs a major overhaul or replacement?

The life expectancy of any engine is largely determined by how well it is maintained. The Honda engine, like all modern engines, requires regular servicing with fresh oil and new filters; if that’s done there’s no reason to believe it wouldn’t do 300,000 km and more.

  • I think you are being ripped off. That is alot of money for a car that has done so many cars   Servicing is not that expensive in my experience

  • Need advice,

I am getting a 7 yr old 2003 Honda CRV which has run 1,20,000 KM. The price quoted is $ 11,500. I am not able to decide whether its a good deal. Also i have heard that maintaining a HONDA CRV is very expensive and the mileage is not more than 5 KM per L. Please please advise
