Q

I HAVE bought a 1994 BMW 525i with 145,000km on the clock. It is in beautiful condition and faultless, except when the lights are on at night and I get a dash alarm indicating a brake light has gone. I've checked and can't find anything wrong. Can I fix this problem?

AIF warning lights are giving you a false signal you probably have an electrical problem. I'd take the car to a BMW dealer or specialist and get it checked. The E34 525i is a lovely car and, with 145,000km, yours has done little work. I would take the time to get it fixed so it is performing faultlessly.
