At least HSV are imageable and create real cars not copies, Ford so called muscle cars will never come anywhere near the designers of holden or HSV. I will admit the early GT'S where monsters and wonderful performance vehicles and are still proving that on the track, also in the market place, but all this car is a tupperware fake for a supercar
Geoff Baker of Braidwood NSWPosted on 08 July 2008 9:40pm
Born and bred ford man here! Though I have liked some of the machines Holden have put out. This is about the ad, and it's better than anything Holden have done.
You wanna talk fake, just look at the crap Holdin put out with the Craptiva on the roof of the buildings! Movies are coming out with all computor graphics and one day, they won't have to have movie stars and their huge fees! Hey GM guys, what happened at V8 Supers in NT? Just like the State of origin, best on the day!!!!
Chris Moore of Sackville NorthPosted on 08 July 2008 8:48pm
When I first saw this ad I was extremely disappointed.
Why do a computer ad????
Even the ads for the new FG range are disappointing.
Ford are using the wrong agency and/or listening to the wrong people.
Great cars, but they don't know how to promote them.
Simon ThornPosted on 08 July 2008 8:22pm
hey george porvey, that is the biggest load of bs i've heard good old holden chucking 1 billion dollars in the new holden. What have they done with all that money, cause the inside hasn't bloody well changed, all they've managed to do is pump a couple of wheel guard with 1 billion dollars. Jees thats a bloody good effort!!!
chris of sydneyPosted on 08 July 2008 7:44pm
OK Ford lovers, have your say. You can talk up your supercar wins and how good the Falcon is, but Ford wont be here for too much longer. Dont forget that Holden had dominated the Bathurst races for 6 years up until 2006. As for the Ads, Ford dont have a penny to spend on running real commercials , with real cars, real cameras, real roads and real people. They dont have the money to spend on supporting V8 supercars and they didnt have the momney to re-build a New Falcon. The so called 'New Car' is the same internals, only just a face lift. The only way they could get any performance that was compatible with Holden / HSV is to go to forced aspiration. Their V8 is a donk and they will be going to an imported v6 soon, thats if they are still here. So talk all you like, because Ford Australia is on its last legs.

Sometimes reality in television simply doesn’t work. Nothing bets the grunt of the real thing!
Lynda Cooper of 2446Posted on 08 July 2008 6:57pm
Oh and also, to the people talking about commodore turbos, there is a very very strong chance the commodore will have one in 2009, the same engine used in the pontiac solstice
kohan gasperino of vicPosted on 08 July 2008 6:29pm
im a holden fanatic but for the first time while ive been alive i think that ford have a better car in the typhoon, but the problem is, the fg just looks to similar to the bf that non-car enthusiust people would think its just an update and not an almost whole brand new car. And even though this is the best car ever made in aus i have sat in a new senator, and i have to say !!WOW!! it is stunning and real fast. But yes the HSV's have to lift their game to compete on the track with the turbo champion.
-Also the GT looks the part but performance is a little soft against typhoon
kohan gasperino of vicPosted on 08 July 2008 6:26pm
I don't know if any of the criticism listed has come from anyone that has actually driven these superb motor cars??? But my experience behind the wheel tells me that the Falcon eats up the Commodore, in performance, ride and handling.
It's Lion hunting season!
Simon Boston of South AustraliaPosted on 08 July 2008 6:03pm
hey george porvey have seen the new falcon range in the flesh. If you have and you think they are the same shape and design as crapydore then may I suggest a visit to an optomertrist!!!
steve.jelenicPosted on 08 July 2008 5:56pm
I'm really not sure where holdenman got the idea that holden have a turbo motor of the same class because the only 'large' commodore that had a turbo was the RB30DET which is a NISSAN engine.
Of course there is also the astra turbo, but we are talking about full size cars here and not shopping trolleys...
JonathanPosted on 08 July 2008 4:49pm
HoldenmanHSV, Holden do not have a Turbo commodore. The V6 (built for front wheel drive Biucks) is not up to it. I like this ad, but FPV sells based on performance rather than TV, and of course the V* supercars, which Ford dominate even though the V8 Supercars really have nothing to do with road cars.
Die hard Holden and Ford fans are not really going to buy cars based on ads.
David Aldridge of AdelaidePosted on 08 July 2008 3:53pm
That is a pretty neat animation.
Nigel Sheather of AustraliaPosted on 08 July 2008 3:49pm
Not even half as dumb as dropping Dick Johnson !
RobPosted on 08 July 2008 3:45pm
... advertising laws .... they aren't allowed to show us cars speeding... but they can show us cgi versions of cars speeding?
Mike of SydneyPosted on 08 July 2008 3:34pm
I thought it wasn't a bad commercial ad, could've gone for at least another 10-15 seconds. The fact that this ad has been targeted primarily at the vast audience who are into cars and watch the v8's, this ad may have come a bit too late considering Ford's decision to only inject money into FPR and SBR. Good commercial, shitty timing. Ford... What are ya doing?
Anthony blyth of MerrylandsPosted on 08 July 2008 3:23pm
This is why I like Hyundai. Cant beat a company that gives a worthwhile warranty. The whole bogan Ford/Holden mentality is such a put off.
smiley of perthPosted on 08 July 2008 3:01pm
You Holden fans are a bit hypocrytical, aren't you? This is all about advertising not the product. Look at the shape of the VE compared to the BA. A bit of a poor effort at copying the Falcon don't you think? And as for Holden leading and everyone following, I don't think so. HSV advertising is the the only thing selling their cars, not quality workmanship. HSV have to prop up Holden as the standard car is so cheap looking and boring.
ralph of gold coastPosted on 08 July 2008 12:53pm
HoldenManHSV - you should go outside and get some fresh air. You are the reason they got rid of leaded petrol.
Stevo of AdelaidePosted on 08 July 2008 11:35am
Wow... so many holden fans posting about fords... let me just say too then that I am a big Holden man.. I love my holdens.. ford has fake ads, holdens 'game over video game' computer generated ads were filmed live on location.... holdens beat everything, holdens are better than ferraris, lambos, bugattis and obviously fords.. ford copies holden... fords turbo is a copy of holdens turbo commodore engine.. fords zf 6 speed auto copied holdens 4 speed auto...ford isnt original, holden invented dynamic stablility control, holden invented the v8 thats why they are the fastest in the world ... holden holden holden blah..
HoldenManHSVPosted on 08 July 2008 1:15am
While I'd prefer to see real cars and landscapes, I think this ad mightn't be too bad for the target audience, which are younger Ford fans who might otherwise buy a Skyline or something similar.
But good on George Porvey for staying on topic!
Buddha of BrisbanePosted on 07 July 2008 6:38pm
I saw this add playing during the V8 Supercar broadcast on Saturday to its target audience - people like me who watch the sport and have a reasonable disposable income. And what else did I see? Roland Dane and Dick Johnson revealing how their teams and Britek had been shafted by Ford who are now limiting sponsorship to FPR and SBR with the latter having generally performed less well than 888 recently yet they are OK with Ford because apparently they don't have red (Holden) coloured cars - seriously. The add looks semi OK for having been done on the comparative cheap, but the bad taste Ford leaves in my mouth right now puts me right off the F6 I was seriously considering. Any money saved by dumping team sponsorship will hopefully be lost in bad press given the fans' loyalties to their teams and given these same people are the target audience for this segment. Ford finally produces a great and possibly legendary model with the F6 at least and puts potential buyers off side instantly. Has all of this been carefully thought through?
David Balfour of BrisbanePosted on 06 July 2008 2:21am
the new ford are so inadequate and there shape and design is the equilent to the holden hsv range as well at the matching front end of the audi...Ford Be Original for a change and by the way your cars are shithouse
george porvey of brisvegasPosted on 05 July 2008 8:51pm
WOW!.................................................soooooooo much faking going on! Firstly fake cars and landscape, then we have the fake matched up engine sounds and lastly of all, looks like a video game advertisement.
