Hotted up Range Rovers

The Overfinch modifications add good looks and lots of extra grunt to the Range Rover.

British-based performance tuning company Overfinch Bespoke Vehicles has unveiled its wares at the Melbourne Motor Show.

Often referred to as the HSV or AMG of Range Rovers, Overfinch offers an almost limitless range of enhancements, from engines to interiors and tyre and wheel upgrades.

The company is using the show to broaden the message in Australia about modifications for Land Rover vehicles through Land Rover dealers and specialised Overfinch installers for Discovery, Range Rover Sport and Vogue models.

Its upgraded engines and sports exhausts can be matched to an eye-catching selection of sports body kits and 22-inch wheels, plus a staggering array of interior trim combinations.

Two glossy black Range Rovers fully kitted out in the company's gear are on the Overfinch stand.

Using the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Vogue as a starting point, the company has tickled performance on both and given the interiors sports accents that extend to two-tone leather seats and brushed alloy trim.

The modified Range Rover Sport, called the Overfinch Supercharged SuperSport, marries its black coachwork with dark-tinted glass and an interior trimmed in black leather with piano-black gloss fittings. Under the bonnet lurks an enhanced Range Rover supercharged petrol 4.2-litre V8 with an extra 37kW, for a total of 325kW, and a revised sports exhaust system. This endows the car with a 0-100km/h time of 6.4 seconds, impressive for a vehicle weighing more than two tonnes.

Also on show is the Range Rover Vogue, which has matching black livery. The Vogue is trimmed in cream leather with matt burr walnut trim and carries the latest Overfinch Aero II bodykit, one of the most popular additions to the car. The car is powered by a turbo-diesel TDV8, which lifts power an extra 25kW to 225kW.

Because of the extensive list of modifications, the company says no two Overfinch cars are the same. But the modifications are not cheap, ranging from a few thousand dollars to $50,000.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. Finally a company has offered buyers of a Range Rover Sport a taste of individuality. I have been looking at purchasing a Range Rover Sport TDV8 very soon and when i buy a new car I love adding a touch of difference to other drivers on the road. Overfinch gives you an enormous range of selections of enhancements to choose from. Its given me an added feeling of excitement to know that my own Range Rover Sport will look like no one elses on the road. Well done Overfinch.
