The celebration of Mark Webber's first Formula One win will step up a gear today with a commemorative stamp.

It is the first time Webber has been honoured by Australia Post and means he joins Peter Brock, Sir Jack Brabham and Alan Jones among the motorsport heroes who have been stamped.

Details of the special issue, which will be announced later today, reflect Webber's success in the German Grand Prix on July 12.

Each commemorative sheet of 10 stamps uses three pictures - a head shot, his car and a close-up of Webber's helmet - on the 55c stamps.

The stamps are surrounded by images from the winning day, with an action shot, a picture of Webber with the winner's trophy and one with him spraying champagne.

The souvenir stamp sheet costs $15.95.
