YAMAHA is on track to win both divisions in the ADB Manufacturers' Cup with only two rounds of the national motocross series to run. Factory Yamaha riders Jay Marmont and Cheyne Boyd lead the Pro Open class going into the next round on July 26 in NSW. Yamaha's off-road dominance is also reflected in Stefan Merriman's big lead over Honda factory racer A.J. Roberts in the Australian Off-Road Championships.
Alcohol headlines
THE blown alcohol championships will headline the first meeting of the 2009-10 drag-racing season at Ipswich's Willowbank Raceway on August 8 and 9.
A1 for Surfers
THE A1 GP will join the V8 Supercars on the streets of Surfers Paradise on October 22-25. The race will be the first of 10 rounds in A1 GP's calendar, and replaces the defunct Champcar series event previously staged in Surfers.
Up the Creek
THE sixth round of the Shannons Nationals series is on at Eastern Creek on July 18-19, with Formula 3s, GT3 Porsches, Commodore Cup entries and Superkarts all on the track.
