MARCOS Ambrose narrowly missed his sixth top-10 finish of the season, coming 11th in the LifeLock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway in Illinois. Ambrose had qualified in his Toyota in 10th. He's at 18th in the series standings.

PAUL Stokell was a satisfied victor in round three of the 2009 Mini Challenge at the Townsville V8 Supercar, extending his series lead and delivering a clear message to his rivals.
Gaunt grabs second
NEW Zealand's Daniel Gaunt finished second in Sunday's Fujitsu V8 Supercar race in Townsville. It was Gaunt's best result from the three rounds he has contested for the McElrea Racing team.
Franchitti top again
DARIO Franchitti recovered from a bad first pit stop to claim the Honda Indy Toronto. His third victory this year returned him to the top of the IndyCar drivers championship standings after 10 of 17 races. Australian duo Ryan Briscoe and Will Power, both driving for Team Penske, finished second and third.
