According to a recent Beaurepairs survey, 69 per cent of women admitted being anxious about road safety.
Seven out of 10 women on Australian roads are worried about safety.
It's their number one concern in driving, ranking well ahead of wet weather or battling through peak-hour traffic. But men do not have the same anxiety level, with a little over half putting safety first at their list of anxiety triggers when driving.
The results comes from a survey by tyre retailer Beaurepairs, which quizzed more than 1000 Australians about their worries on the road.
Safety is the biggest concern overall, with 62 per cent of people in the survey putting it first. A whopping 69 per cent of women admitted being anxious about road safety, with 55 per cent of men joining their concern.
Not surprisingly, wet weather is considered the worst condition for driving but battling traffic congestion is not far behind - 31 per cent against 21 per cent - with snow driving up next.
Apart from safety, the biggest concerns in driving - according to the study - are fuel consumption, arriving on time and getting caught speeding.
