Lynard Skynard’s Sweet Home Alabama pipped Britain’s Katrina and the Waves summer hit Walking on Sunshine for pole position in an online survey by vehicle information company HPI.
The top 10 is dominated by songs from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. The only song recorded in the past 10 years is the-less-than-summery Mr Brightside, by The Killers, at number four.
