Would you buy a hybrid-fuel car?
Gil Lambert
I wouldn't buy a hybrid because hybrids don't really reduce emissions in a lifetime comparison including manufacture due to their batteries and replacements over the lifetime. A much better option is a turbo diesel.
Adrian Grant
Yes I would buy a hybrid provided the price was competative and styling good. However - I'd be more inclined to buy a diesel car - but why is fuel upto 20% more expensive. Where is the justification for diesel fuel sold at a premium?
Daniel
Currently hybrid cars are too expensive to produce and buy. You have to clock up hundreds of thousands of k's to make it worthwhile. Factor in a few battery replacements (costing thousands of dollars each time) and its completely pointless. Dedicated electric cars look promising with testing of fully electric smart fortwos in the uk showing good results with 150k's plus per charge. In the short term bio-diesel and hydrogen will be the future in fuels.

Yes i would, if only they were reasonably priced. 10-15 thousand more for a hybrid is crazy! I would just put the car on gas first!

Yes, I would buy a hybrid, we all need to do our bit to reduce Co2. I'm going through the motions of it now, but there is not a lot of selection out there. Hurry up Australian car makers, get on with it.
