The sporty looking Veloster is powered by the Hyundai?s smallest direct injection petrol engine.

The Veloster is the product of conflict, the designers couldn?t settle on a hatch or coupe.

So they build a car with features of both.

The radical 2+1 door configuration has a single door on the driver’s side and a unique, forward-hinged third door for back seat access on the passenger side.

The sporty looking Veloster is powered by the Hyundai’s smallest direct injection petrol engine. The Gamma 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine is matched to either a standard six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Velosters delivered Down Under will have a new vehicle stability management system and full suite of airbags as Hyundai puruses its strategy of only offering five-star cars. The car is due on sale here before the end of the year.
