We salute the stalwarts of the Detroit motor show stands.

galleryThe Detroit motor show may showcase some of the most stylish and extravagant of the world's upcoming automotive models, but the manufacturers also garnish these four-wheeled objects of desire with highly trained and informative booth professionals.

We've taken a sample of the hardworking attendants from Audi, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Infiniti, Jeep, Lexus, Lincoln, Toyota, and put them into a mega gallery among 2014's automotive highlights for you to peruse.

And while you're at it, you might want to compare fashion trends with our Australian equivalent booth professionals via our 2010, 2011, and 2012 Australian International Motor Show galleries

  • Women are a "garnish"?" "..See our mega gallery for a selection of the 2014 Detroit motor show's most stylish booth professionals.." The language is euphemistic. This is pure objectification of women. This type of article and language is archaic and insulting. It reinforces "girls"- note: not "women" are purely innocuous, pretty meat packets. Sad to see "staffwriters". I suppose you don't mind another generation of kids growing up with this poisonous, acceptable type of grooming. $$$ Carsguide audience doesn't only consist of one gender. The rest of us feel saddened depressed and bloody uncomfortable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is essentially a 'fashions on the field' story, and we often have commentary on which designers supplied the dresses, just as we cover Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week events, etc. And in the same vein as the red carpet round-ups. I personally liked the gunmetal frocks sported on the Cadillac stand. Other women in my vicinity preferred the restrained white frocks. The word 'girls' is used because it is shorter then 'women'. Most media use shorter forms of words where possible in headlines. - Editor
