Driver stays safe in crushed car

  • image

The container slid off the tray of a truck and onto the roof of the woman’s car - crushing and flattening it.

Rescuers amazed to find woman alive after container flattens car.

Firefighters were certain the driver of this car had been killed when a shipping container fell on it from a semi-trailer driving alongside. But as a crane lifted the container off the car, the emergency services team heard cries for help. The woman was amazingly cut free from the wreckage and had no serious injuries.

The driver in Jiangsu, eastern China, had been travelling beside the semi-trailer which was carrying the massive container. The weight of the cargo caused the semi to tilt to one side, with the container sliding off the tray and onto the roof of the woman’s car – crushing and flattening it.

Firefighters attending the accident scene expected to find the driver was already dead, as the crane lifted the container away from the car to let them get to it. However after hearing her voice calling for help, they spent little time cutting the vehicle open to free her.

  • It looks like a Nissan Maxima, she was lucky, it's probably because most Asian woman can hardly see over the dash.

  • those comments sound like they come from a 14 year making fun of people. It's a miracle the woman survived. Who cares about the car or what she looked like. Shame on you. You mustn be the kind of people that need attention and if you aren't the center of it have to make up idiot comments like those. If there ever is a Zombi apocalypse, I hope people like you are the first to go. How rude and uncaring. Hope you never are in a situation like this.

  • This woman survived by some miracle and all you can made is rude and derogatory comments about her car and her looks? I bet if you just had a trailer land on you, you wouldn't look your best either. Some people are so self centered, selfish and just ugly. I wouldn't want you around if I had an emergency. You are the ones that would act 14 and stand around and point and laugh. I hope nothing bad ever happens to you. You might not be saying such things. Shame on you. Some people are so selfish, ignorant. Or just say things so they can be the center of attention because they are not happy unless they are in the front. Shame on you people.

  • It's not about the car or the woman, you people are self centered and rude or this is a cry for attention. It's not about that the woman survived. By some miracle. That's what it's about. The comments made by these people are the ONES you DO NOT want around in an emergency. They wouldn't help, because they are too self centered/rude. They can only made ugly comments.

  • well interesting to hear that it "slid off" a tray when it should have been locked down by 4 pins one on each corner, so looks like the truck driver just forgot to lock them after being loaded.

  • Why be surprised, they have a history of cramming up and fitting in as many people as they can into different modes of transport.
