Top Gear host designs and crams into the miniscule P45.

Jeremy Clarkson has apparently added car design to his CV, with the latest episode of BBC’s Top Gear unveiling his creation: the world’s tiniest car.

The P45 takes its name from the small Peel P50 (officially the world’s smallest production car) Clarkson drove in a previous series – through a shopping centre. The car features a helmet for a roof and a visor for a windshield, but has all the requirements to be registered in the UK.

On the show, Clarkson says the car is legally able to be driven, before taking the P45 out for a maiden run on the highway. However after seeing the debut drive, we’re not sure there’s a market for his design.

  • Neil Cowan you're the peanut. It went from enjoying awesome toys to worrying that someone may of died. Toughness is not equal to a cavalier attitude towards others well being and life.

  • Reiterate Clarkson is a knobs knob. Just watched the Korean Top Gear helicopter crash? Hilarious because no one hurt, but the the Korean Jeremy Clarkson goes from ... hairy-chested-macho-balls-out supercar driver to whimpering peanut in the time it takes a Cobra attack helicopter to plough itself into a pile of scrap metal (not long at all!) .... but its just so much 'tough' fun, boys, isnt it.??? KNOBS!!!

  • I am a pom,I can honestly say that Clarkson is and always has been a complete wanker, an upper class pompous twit, boring stupid and a complete waste of space.I wouldn't say no to a fifth of his salary. Not knocking Top Gear just the pratt that presents it.

  • Yeah, I see them making those mistakes all the time. The news articles are just purchased from a 3rd party and displayed on a range of different websites. There is probably only a very limited amount of human intervention. Plus the general public wouldn't have spotted it raspberry

  • Its name also reminds me of the leyland P76. Both of these 'cars' would kill you eventually.

  • Jeremy, you don't like motorbikes but somehow you came up with this abomination. You have just made riding a motorbike look so safe in comparison.

  • Typical Clarkson. Look at all those frustrated motorist being held up will this goose shows off to get some laughs. Add to it the dangerous scenarios he creates where other drivers may take risks or be distracted. The sooner he get run over the better!

  • yeah a car for dwarfs

    Fred Posted on 09 February 2013 8:33am
  • I was wondering if they'd pick up on the name too. Sure Clarkson gives a feeble excuse it's P as it was inspired by the Peel and 45 as it's smaller than the 50, but it's a play on words as a P45 is a UK tax form you're given when you're fired!

Jimbob of UK Posted on 08 February 2013 9:20pm
  • the name P45 comes from the form you are given when you are fired from your job!
