Holden Australia spokesman Jonathan Rose assures buyers "safety is always our number one priority so if further action is required we will notify customers as soon as possible."

Holden has suspended all deliveries of current Cruze 1.8-litre petrol models while it investigates a potential fuel leak problem.

Corporate affairs spokesman Jonathan Rose said the potential problem was in the fuel feed hose.  A ‘Stop Delivery Notice’ was issued to dealers on March 3 to not sell, deliver or transfer the vehicles until the investigation has been carried out "and, if necessary, corrective action has been completed".

"No action is required at this time on any (2010) petrol Cruzes that have already been delivered to customers," he said.

"However, safety is always our number one priority so if further action is required we will notify customers as soon as possible."

  • Holden are well known for safety. I would rather wait and have the problem checked. As usual the press make things sound far worse than reality.

  • LOL ... they are not to deliver any cars but those that have already been delivered is OK. So to clarify, those cars that just drove away moments before the respective dealers read the notice is fine and safe, but those that are about to be delivered should not be delivered because Holden would rather hold on to them until they are absolutely sure that it's OK?

WHO CARES, ITS A NEW CAR clearly some owners/drivers would only consider it a major fault if the A/C stopped working or the vanity mirror made them drop their eyelash curler ignorance is bliss

  • Yeah it's nothing like the whole steering column falling apart like in the Captiva.

  • Just another (suspect) quality Korean Holden vehicle.

  • WHAT A LOAD OF SHENANIGANS these top two posts are they are doing just as any other car manufacturer does... they would only recall it if it becomes a BIG THING just like any other car co get your heads out of holdens rear end!

  • ...and doing it properly rather than wait for the Gov or public opinion to force them into it!

  • Just to indicate this isnt a recall, rather a quality check. Holden is doing the responsible thing and nipping a potential problem in the bud before it has a chance to occur.
