The Mazda CX-3 Neo is that cleverest of things - the entry level model that is just lowly-specced enough to allow a dealer to up-sell you to the next one but just cheap enough that it will catch buyers in two minds about a Mazda. It's a solid start to the range and with the optional Safety Pack fitted, a good value with excellent safety credentials.
Priced from $19,990 for the Neo manual 2.0-litre petrol, an extra $2000 takes you to $21,990 and adds the six-speed automatic transmission. The Neo is front-wheel drive only and sits beneath the Maxx in the CX-3 line-up.
The stereo has four-speakers, with CD player (MP3 compatible), aux-in and USB with iPhone connectivity (not CarPlay), nor does it have Mazda's MZD Connect screen and therefore, no reversing camera.
Neos have 16-inch steel wheels with hubcaps, power mirrors and windows, cloth trim, manual front seats, air-conditioning, cruise control, vanity mirrors, keyless start, remote central locking and rear parking sensors.
