The $74,900 M240i Coupe is king of the 2 Series two doors which start at $51,300 for the 220i and steps up to the $61,900 230i.
The M240i Coupe has an 8.8-inch screen with the top-spec Professional sat nav, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, proximity unlocking, Harman/Kardon stereo, power adjustable and heated front seats and Driving Assistant. Of course the M240i gets a whole lot of high-performance M Sport gear such as M Sport brakes, adaptive M suspension, M body kit and 18-inch M light alloy wheels with a double spoke design.
Under the bonnet is where the big difference lives – the M240i has a 250kW/500Nm 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine which can fire the coupe to 100km/h from a standstill in 4.6s. There’s an eight-speed automatic transmission which is excellent, but for those that want to change gears themselves there’s a six-speed manual option for no extra cost.
The official combined fuel consumption for the M240i is 7.1L/100km.
