Not only the best Ford Australia has built, but also a contender for the best car Australia has built. Full stop.
There's all the space of a large family sedan, and yet it doesn't feel bloated or flaccid. Or boring.
At the luxury end of the FG range, it's the best looking variant, and the turbo engine's 270kW/533Nm outputs can make mincemeat of a long highway haul.
The suspension is set-up towards the compliancy of a luxury ride, but has been tuned to also offer enough firmness for a sporty response without descending into the bone-jarring category.
A five-hour round trip over both urban and rural roads presented a convincing argument for the G6E's ability, performance and road manners.
Nothing upset or challenged it, and the highway cruising settled into a particularly pleasurable outing.
With leather upholstery, satnav and reversing camera filling out the standard equipment list, there's not much more you could ask of an Aussie car.

I got one of the first G6E turbos and it is a bloody brilliant car. I don’t think that there is a better value car on the road today and the fact that it looks and handles so good tells me that Ford got it right. Well done Ford. It;s a pity that people are so blind about brand names when they purchase a car because this vehicle outpoints all other aussie cars bar none.

I am in the market for a new car and the Ford G6E Turbo does just about everything a car should at a reasonable price. Number one pick for me.

as an ardent ford fan ,i have driven fords for most of my life and the latest ford falcon G6E Turbo is a clear winner it have the classy styling finish to the body the full grunt of the turbo six the comfortable in interior predominant road handling and just a great allround aussie built car.the blue oval no 1.
