Not only the best Ford Australia has built, but also a contender for the best car Australia has built. Full stop.
There's all the space of a large family sedan, and yet it doesn't feel bloated or flaccid. Or boring.
At the luxury end of the FG range, it's the best looking variant, and the turbo engine's 270kW/533Nm outputs can make mincemeat of a long highway haul.
The suspension is set-up towards the compliancy of a luxury ride, but has been tuned to also offer enough firmness for a sporty response without descending into the bone-jarring category.
A five-hour round trip over both urban and rural roads presented a convincing argument for the G6E's ability, performance and road manners.
Nothing upset or challenged it, and the highway cruising settled into a particularly pleasurable outing.
With leather upholstery, satnav and reversing camera filling out the standard equipment list, there's not much more you could ask of an Aussie car.

Hired one of these from Thrifty for a weekend out. What a glorious drive. Interior is very plush and well appointed.

The best car for me; aerospatial designe, engine power exactly right for a confortable, medium spatiouse, intristing range color car.
I can’‘t imagine my life without it.

I have now completed 5000km in a new Falcon G6E. I am delighted with it. Not one bug. It is quiet, the 6-speed auto gearbox is a delight to use. I have driven my son’s BMW 535 (with the same gearbox), and I believe that the car is it’s equal, but at one third of the price.

Its a fantastic car that deserves what it gets…..I always hear holden,holden and more bloody holden…I am wrapped they paid much less to build there range and that feels really good…I just hope they sell more and life gets better for the car industry in australia…regards slav…..

Have always owned fords but never has one inspired me so much. Test drove a G6E turbo last saturday, saw one in Silk in the showroom and after many sleepless nights decided I couldn’t live without it anymore. Deposit given and I pick it up next Wednesday. Thanks ford for building something that doesn’t seem to have any comprimises and ticks all the right boxes.
