One-owner Godzilla at Shannons

Shannons say the GT-R is showing minimal signs of wear for a 19-year old car and represents a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors to acquire an unmolested and unmodified original example.

The one-owner, absolutely original metallic burgundy example is one of just 100 R32 Skylines produced by Nissan in Australia to capitalise on the first-ever victory by a Japanese maker in The Great Race.

Nick-named Godzilla by the Australian motoring press the GT-R is powered by a 2.6-litre six cylinder twin-turbo engine that officially produced 206kW but actually developed more than 230kW _ due to a gentlemen's agreement among Japanese makers not to exceed 206kW.

Combined with four wheel drive, the GT-R has blistering performance, with 0-100km/h achieved in just 4.7seconds.  Australia was the GT-R's first export market and these were the only R32 Skylines ever produced outside Japan.

Delivered new in 1991 from Capitol Motors in Parramatta Road, Auburn, the time-warp GT-R has just 54,700km on its odometer and is only being sold because its elderly first owner now finds it beyond his needs.

It is being sold with all its original delivery books still in their leather NISSAN GTR-embossed compendium, including a GT-R dealer listing, a brochure showing the location of premium unleaded petrol stations, plus a booklet titled How to drive your GTR by Nissan racing champions, Jim Richards and Mark Skaife.

The car also comes with its original keys and Nissan GTR key ring, an unused space-saver spare tyre, factory tool kit and its original radio/tape deck, although a later after-market unit is currently fitted.

It is expected to go for between $45,000 and $60,000.  The Sydney Classic Auction will be held on November 15.
