New car sales price Honda CR-V

The ADAS system will be available as a $3500 option only on the top-spec $45,790 VTi-L.

The CR-V is now available with the new Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) -- introduced recently with the all-new Accord.  The ADAS system has taken six months to get to Australian CR-Vs.

It was available on European CR-Vs when the vehicle launched there months ago, but was delayed in coming here because we source our stock from Thailand, while European stock is sourced from the Swindon plant in the UK. The Thai factory added ADAS to the Accord first, and has only recently started adding it to the CR-V.

ADAS is available as a factory fitted option on the top of the range 4WD VTi-L. The system comprises three technologies: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Buttons on the steering wheel operate ACC, allowing the driver to set their speed and preferred distance from the vehicle in front.

CMBS detects a vehicle ahead and determines if a collision is possible and provides the driver with visual and audio alerts. If a collision is imminent, CMBS will apply braking and seat-belt tensioning to minimise the risk.

LKAS is designed for dual carriageway or motorway use. The system detects lane markings using a camera mounted on the inside of the windscreen. If it senses the vehicle is about the leave its lane without indicating, LKAS will issue a visual and audio warning and apply gentle corrective steering to assist the driver to move the vehicle back to the centre of the lane.

The ADAS system will be available as a $3500 option only on the top-spec $45,790 VTi-L.
