Dubai police add BMW M6 and Mustang

The police are hoping to convince organisers of the World Expo 2020 to host the event in Dubai.

The growing number of supercars and other exotics being bought by Dubai Police shows no sign of slowing. The latest patrol cars spotted on the beat in the Gulf city are a BMW M6 Gran Coupe and a Ford Mustang, the latter tuned by Roush.

Both cars come with a V-8 engine and rear-wheel drive, though like the other exotics purchased by Dubai Police the M6 Gran Coupe and Mustang were spotted parked in an upmarket area attended by scores of tourists and not actually doing any actual police work.

This image of the two cars was first posted by enthusiast website Zero 2 Turbo and since picked up by World Car Fans.

And in case you’re thinking Dubai Police staff have the best job in the world because they don’t have to worry about driving anything duller than a Ford Mustang, better think again.

One of the cars in the fleet is an all-electric Renault Twizy, which has a maximum output of just 13 kilowatts and a top speed of 80km/h.

Previous exotic cars the Dubai Police have added to their fleet include:

Aston Martin One-77
Bentley Continental GT
Bugatti Veyron
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Ferrari FF
Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Dubai Police officials have previously stated that the squad’s new fleet of exotics will be used solely in areas heavily trafficked by tourists. Working together with the local government, the Dubai police are hoping the attention will convince organisers of the World Expo 2020 to host the event in Dubai.
