2015 Hyundai i20 revealed | spy shots

New version of Australia’s top-selling light hatch spotted wearing no disguise.

The second-generation Hyundai i20 has been spied without disguise in India, just days ahead of the new model’s official unveiling.

The images come via Indian Autos Blog, and show a blend of current i10 and i30 designs that sit either side of the i20 in the Korean brand’s lineup.

Building on these existing models, the new i20 adds more detail within its head and taillights, along with blacked-out C-pillars for a semi floating roof look.

The new i20’s interior also looks to continue the classy theme introduced by the new Genesis and Sonata sedans, with more detail and colour variation than the dated existing design.

The new model is expected to bring improvements to efficiency, dynamics and connectivity, and these images also suggest a reversing camera will be available for the first time.

The first-generation i20 has been on sale here since 2010, but the model launched internationally in 2007.

Despite its age, the i20 is currently Australia’s top-seller in the light hatch segment, and the new model will help compete with the all-new Mazda2 due before the year's end and the Honda Jazz that touched down this week

The media will have their first taste of the new model later this month, ahead of an expected arrival in Australian showrooms early next year.
