The windscreen washer pump/motor has failed on my 2010 Toyota Corolla just one year out of warranty and at only 60,000km and has to be replaced. With all the cars my family has owned over many years this is the first such failure. The washer bottle has always been kept topped up, but even if it hadn't would that cause the pump to fail? Why would this happen on a car so young and with a reputation for reliability?
It's more than likely just bad luck that you copped a dodgy pump. There could be any number of reasons for it to fail, it's not a major issue, I would just cop it on the chin and get on with life.
