I bought a new Hyundai i40 wagon in July 2012, using it mainly as a shopping cart and kid transporter. I noticed the brakes started to shudder a little and it got worse so I called the Hyundai dealership leading up to its two-year service and booked it in. With only 12,000km on the clock the dealership said the car needed new front brake rotors. I assumed that they would do the job under warranty but they initially baulked saying that brakes are only covered for the first year and they would need to speak to Hyundai head office. After a week they got back to me and said they would cover it under warranty.
You've done well, because brakes are called 'wear and tear" items and not normally covered under warranty. Lots of cars have heavy brake wear these days because of ABS and the deletion of asbestos from components. It's a fact of life, although I can recommend Bendix Euro+ brake pads as a partial solution.
