Toyota HiLux 2006: Injector seal leaks causes engine failure

The 2006 Toyota HiLux I bought from a major Toyota dealer suffered complete engine failure 18 months after I bought it. My mechanic has completed a report for me with photographs detailing how the injector seal leak has caused the carbon build-up that caused the failure. It has sat there now since April 2014. I don't have the money for repairs. Toyota now has sent me a recall notice for the injector seal leaks, which I know amounts to admitting a flaw, but when Toyota simply puts me on hold for hours on end and the dealership is plain nasty I don't know how to progress with it? I have seen other questions posted on your column that have been encouraging, but any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

If Toyota has agreed to help you out with the repairs I would stick with them and have the car repaired, but if they haven't you could approach the government consumer affairs people and ask their advice on what action you could take. You could also consult a solicitor and consider sending them a latter requesting they take action to resolve the issue.
