Great Wall quality problems

I read with interest a couple of weeks ago about the drop in sales of Great Wall vehicles by about 70 per cent as I purchased a new V240 FWD trayback in 2011. I got it home and noticed paint peeling off on the left-front mudguard. I took it back to the dealer for warranty and they were happy to repair it and, while it was in for repair, their mechanics found other faults that they also fixed. I took it home once again but on the way I noticed the engine was surging and not running as it should and there was also a squeal from the front of the engine. I have taken it back to our Great Wall dealer here in Darwin about seven times for repair but they always said they can't fault it. It has just run out of warranty and now they say they should be able to find the faults and fix them at my expense. Do you think Great Wall should perhaps contribute to some of the repairs required?

Sales have nosedived because people have realised the quality problems. You're extremely unlikely to get any help from Great Wall on items that should have been fixed under warranty.
