Cruze transmission problem (Part 15)

My sister-in-law purchased a new Holden Cruze in 2010. Since then she has had an auto transmission failure, which was repaired under warranty even though the vehicle was over three years old at the time. Now with just under 60,000 km it appears the heat exchanger for the transmission in the radiator has been contaminated with coolant. Surely a car with this amount of km, and given its history with a transmission failure it should be covered. It has also had a leak from the oil level sensor for ages, and Holden has refused to cover it.

With the age of the car and the fact that it is out of warranty, you're largely in the hands of Holden and their willingness to cover repairs out of "good will". I would press the company to come good with a repair to the transmission cooler on the same basis of good will. The oil leak is another matter, I wouldn't bother to seek a good will payment for that, it's too minor a problem to be bothered with. Just fix it.
