I am 75 and may be set in my ways. I have just bought a 2013 Toyota Aurion, having previously owned three 1960s cars for the past 46 years. These were a '64 EH Holden, '68 Ford Fairmont and '68 Holden Monaro GTS . Anyway, I cannot come to grips with the view from the external rearview mirrors that give a false impression of the distance behind me and following traffic. I can't see the logic in it. Can I put normal glass in the mirror. Who can supply such mirrors?
Wide-view mirrors have become almost universal in recent years but your local mirror shop can probably cut and fit some replacement glass to take you back to what you know. And you're not the first to ask about the vagaries of curved mirrors.
