The 1996 SEAT Cordoba 1.8-litre I recently bought with 84,000 km on the odometer makes a big noise when the accelerator is pressed. It doesn't pick up speed quickly after a stop, and makes it very stressful in traffic. The mechanic said there was no major fault there. What could be wrong?
There is obviously something preventing it from accelerating as it should. Check the exhaust system and make sure the catalytic converter hasn’t partially collapsed to the point that it is partly blocking the flow of exhaust gases.
